Before applying a wig, make sure your hair is completely dry. Moisture trapped beneath a wig creates the conditions for bacteria and mildew, neither of which belong anywhere near a premium piece.
Start with a clean, moisturised scalp. Apply a lightweight oil to lock in hydration, then braid your hair into small, flat cornrows that sit close to the scalp. Neat, flat braids keep your wig secure and sitting correctly while reducing tension on your natural hair. Pay particular attention to your edges, braids that are too tight will cause stress where it shows most.
Once braided, fit a sheer wig cap over your hair. This reduces friction between your natural hair and the wig, prevents breakage, and ensures a clean, secure fit.
A well-prepared base is what allows a great piece to perform the way it should… and to last.
